Gold Lynels are a new type of enemy in Zelda Breath of The Wild. They were introduced in the Master Trials DLC, and they’re only available in Master Mode, BoTW’s version of hard difficulty. Killing a golden lynel is no easy task – the same goes for finding them. They spawn only after certain conditions are met, and they’re really rare. In this guide, we’re going to show you Zelda BoTW Gold Lynel locations.

Where to find Golden Lynels

First of all, they’re only available on Master Mode. They simply won’t spawn on regular difficulty. Seeing how the gold lynel is the upgraded version of the silver one, you’ll first need to defeat a bunch of those. It can be tedious, but it’s great practice for when you do get to fight the gold version. They’re exactly like the silver lynels, except with more health. Finishing all four divine beast quests will increase the spawn rate of the silver ones, making it easier to coax a golden into existence.

We’ve only see one location so far. It’s the Colliseum Ruins, the ones east of the Outskirts Stable. If you’ve already collected the Phantom Armor, you’ll remember it as the place where you found the helmet.

You can use all the normal Lynel tactics to defeat the beast, it will only take longer, on account of the health point bump they received. Make sure you stun them – it makes the fights much more bearable. We’ll update the guide with other locations as we discover them. If you know of another place where golden lynels spawn, feel free to let us know using the comments.
